Global Impact Competition by GOOGLE
Some Malaysian asked me why NASA? Well, I won a competition in Malaysia called GIC (Global Impact Competition) organized in collaboration with Google & Ecm Libra. The main aim of this competition was to identify & select top 3% candidates worldwide in order to join the incubator program in SU, NASA. It was a competition to solve Global Grand Challenge in Malaysia and the project I presented was utilizing medicine, big data analytics & predictive analytics to solve mankind greatest fear; disease outbreak that could lead to mortality & fatality. I will try my best to gain as much knowledge as possible from both the faculty members as well as from my colleagues here. I am happy to represent Malaysia to this cutting edge exponential Singularity University, NASA Ames Research Park, Silicon Valley, where great innovators, mind changers & disruptive innovators are born. This exponential course allows us to focus on Artificial Intelligence, data science, machine learning, deep learning, medicine & neuroscience, environment, security, energy and many more.
Thanks for all the support guys.
To the future health leaders in Malaysia....come on!!!!! Be different!
Dream the impossible & don't be afraid to speak up.
Remember, Failure is inevitable….(its a validated learning to make you a better person) as long as its not fatal.

Google Glass
nteresting day. Manage to explore how Google Glass works. Basically, its a head-mounted wearable computer developed by Google. An optical display, which is resting in the peripheral vision and it is attached to a lightweight glasses frame.
I need to highlight something, Google Glass is not a Head-up display (HUD). This technology belongs to augmented reality.

Health Threats, What are We Facing.
It’s important to understand our relationship with the microbial world. Most microscopic organisms benefit humans, other organisms or the environment in some way — for example, they help us digest our food and keep bad bugs in check.
At the same time, we are never far away from one of the 1,400 kinds of disease-causing microbes that are capable of infecting people; many infect animals, too. Of these microbes, known as pathogens, about 500 can be transmitted from humans to other humans. And around 150 of them can cause epidemics — rapidly spreading outbreaks of serious, sometimes life-threatening, disease.
Conversely, last year worldwide 1.7 million of the 34 million people infected with H.I.V. died from AIDS. There was little front-page news coverage about these cases. Nor was there much coverage last year of the estimated 1.5 million tuberculosis-related deaths, of the 1.1 million young children who died of infectious diarrheal illness, or of the 825,000 deaths from malaria. Infectious diseases like these plague the world but, because they don’t occur in our backyard, they remain relatively invisible .

Dengue: Learn the field work
I personally managed to fog & understand how our staff on the field operate during outbreaks. No joke, 4 liters of Diesel & Gokilaht + 8kg machine + covering 400 meter radius. In order to be an good leader and effective public health specialist, we need to understand how the system works, understand how our staff on the ground works & never ever look down or underestimate anyone. Team work is the key to a successful disease control program.
Malaysians should realise how lucky they are..

Every woman has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, including the right to dignified, respectful care during pregnancy and childbirth.
Every woman has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, including the right to dignified, respectful care during pregnancy and childbirth. However, across the world many women experience disrespectful, abusive, or neglectful treatment during childbirth in facilities. These practices can violate women’s rights, deter women from seeking and using maternal health care services and can have implications for their health and well-being.
A new WHO statement illustrates a commitment to promoting the rights of women and to promoting access to safe, timely, respectful care during childbirth. It calls for greater co-operation among governments, healthcare providers, managers, professional associations, researchers, women’s advocates, international organizations and women themselves to end disrespect and abuse during facility-based childbirth.
